HANDS-ON AT THE EXPLORATORIUM

Founded by physicist and educator Dr. Frank Oppenheimer in 1969, the Exploratorium features hundreds of hands-on exhibits and appeals to adults and children alike. Located at the stunning Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium is one of the top things to do in San Francisco.
The goal of the Exploratorium is to help people explore and understand the world around them. The Exploratorium's museum floor is open to the public, but also serves as a laboratory for research and development of innovations in exhibits for exploring the sciences, arts, and human perception.
Some of the mesmerizing exhibits include mouse stem cells that beat like heart cells, and worms glowing bright green with the phosphorescence of jellyfish, through gene implantation.
The Exploratorium will move to Piers 15/17 in 2013, significantly increasing the space, and allowing for the addition of new facilities as well.
Exploratorium is one of the top San Francisco attractions. See why and stop by!

GOOD TIMES AT CAFE DU NORD

CafĂ© Du Nord is a nightclub, restaurant and live music venue located in the landmark Swedish-American building in the Upper Market district of San Francisco. Du Nord is known for bringing in great musical acts, and the club retains the ambiance of a classic lounge.
Built in 1907, it has maintained its Victorian interiors, featuring the original faux decorated paneling and wainscoting, and a forty-foot hand carved mahogany bar. Looking around, it's easy to see why it was once a notorious speakeasy during Prohibition.  The rich red walls and dark wood interior create the perfect environment to enjoy classic cocktails and the most eclectic live music in town — seven nights a week.
Du Nord has multiple sections. The Swedish American Music Hall is where live music happens, the bar area, and restaurant area. SOMA Magazine has called Du Nord"one of San Francisco's hippest watering holes."
